Who is Hippolyte Bohouo

Hippolyte Bohouo is a Belgian-Ivorian choreographer and theatre-maker whose work explores themes of identity, connection, and social justice. After graduating from the School of Theatre and Dance in Abidjan, he collaborated with renowned choreographers such as Kamel Ouali and Georges Momboye before settling in Belgium in 2010.

His performances - including Pourquoi ne parles-tu pas (2014), Tour d'ivoire (2016), and Miettes de vie (2021, École des Sables) - blend dance, theatre, and urgent storytelling. Hippolyte enjoys working with young people, as seen in projects like EDERED (2024), where he co-created powerful and inclusive performances. His approach is open, connective, and socially engaged, aiming to give every voice a stage.
